Proper cleaning for your vaporizer – instructions & tips for “clean vaporizing”.
It should go without saying that your vaporizer needs regular cleaning. But how does it work & what is important to consider? We would like to present you a step-by-step guide for daily and deep cleaning, which includes important tips to make your vape shine like new. We also reveal how you can extract the resin left behind after vaporizer cleaning.
Why is regular cleaning of a vaporizer important?
Through use, the warm vapor condenses by contact with the cooler elements of the vaporizer, and over time, sticky, resinous deposits settle. This clogs the airways and the performance of the vape diminishes over time. This shortens the functionality and life of the vaporizer. Through regular cleaning, you can positively influence the quality of the steam and its performance. As soon as you notice that the taste or performance changes, it’s time for vape cleaning. Depending on the intensity of use, this should be done every 4 days (heavy use) or 1x a week (normal use).

Step-by-step vaporizer cleaning – What must be considered?
We recommend removing the herbal residues with isopropyl alcohol. However, this solvent is very strong and should not come into contact with all materials of the evaporator. Basically, plastic or plastic on the base and vape head should only be wiped with alcohol instead of being inserted. We advise you to wear gloves at all times. If you want to clean your vaporizer with a home remedy, it is best to use vodka. Keep your hands off alcohol and ethanol! These liquids take a long time to volatilize and are harmful to health when inhaled.
To keep your vape pen clean for a long time, we recommend a short daily cleaning.
These are the utensils you need to clean your vaporizer every day:
- Isopropyl alcohol / rubbing alcohol
- Vaporizer cleaning kit
- Cotton swab
Quick cleaning of your evaporator:
- Let your vaporizer get cold. Then disassemble it into the individual parts
- Brush all herbs and flower debris from the herb chamber and strainer with a small cleaning brush
- Now dip the cotton swab in isopropyl alcohol and clean the mouthpiece and sieve.
- To clean the chamber in case of stubborn residues, the cotton swab should only be damp during cleaning so that no liquid gets into the electronics
Depending on how often you use your vaporizer, you should perform a thorough cleaning of your device every 1 – 2 weeks.

- Isopropyl alcohol
- Plastic container
- Cleaning brush
- Cotton swab
6 simple steps to clean your vaporizer:
- Let your vaporizer get cold. Then disassemble it into the individual parts (remember the composition!)
- Place items such as mouthpieces, sieves and chambers in a plastic container
- Cover the parts with isopropyl alcohol for approx. 30 min.
- In the meantime, clean the chamber with isopropanol using a (slightly damp) cotton swab. Make sure that no liquid gets into the electronics.
- Now rinse all parts with clear water (a brush helps with stubborn incrustations).
- Let dry in the air
Our tip: The alcohol with the resin residues can be collected in a jar and used several times. How you can get resin from the cleaning alcohol, you will learn later in the article.
Important! To remove alcoholic residues, the vape should be “vaporized” first, regardless of which cleaning method you have chosen. To do this, set the vaporizer with an empty herb chamber to a low heat (min. 100 °C) and operate the vaporizer for a few minutes.
Clean the vaporizer and extract the resin – how to do it?
You can do this very simple (but also very time consuming) procedure either after each use of the isopropyl or when you have used the alcohol several times and there are more resin deposits in it.
Leave the open jam jar in a dry, well-ventilated, safe place for about a week. After that, the cleaning alcohol will have evaporated and you can put the resin or oil left behind on a drip pad with a small spatula and evaporate it.
